By signing the Pass
The Elder Justice Act online
petition, more than 1200 people
from 38 states (and 4 foreign countries)
have sent a clear signal to Washington,
DC that the Elder Justice Act must
be passed into law this year! It's
fast and easy, and you can sign
anonymously.
Together, let's send a message to the United States Congress
to protect our treasured older citizens from abuse and exploitation.
Forward this page to
your family, friends and colleagues across the nation asking them
to sign the petition and to contact their Congressional Representatives.
The
Elder Justice Act would:
- Provide federal resources to
support state and community efforts
on the front lines dedicated to fighting
elder abuse with scarce resources and
fragmented systems.
- Assure adequate public-private
infrastructure and resources to prevent,
detect, treat, understand, intervene
in and, where appropriate, prosecute
elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
STRATEGIC DATES
- July 5 - International Network for the
Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA) Conference,
Paris, France
